  • What kind of equipment are you using?
  • I mainly use a Wacom Cintiq 22HD (DTK-2200) and the stylus that comes with it.

It’s mounted to my desk with an Ergotron arm that allows different spacing.

For the stylus I use Hard Felt Nibs to have a soft, paperlike feel. I have my sensitivity setting tilted towards the soft end to ease the tension on my wrist and allow the nibs to degrade slower. (Usually a nib lasts for approximately a year.)

The tablet’s screen is protected by a POSRUS Antiglare Touch Screen Protector (heavily recommending, excellent brand).

  • What Programs are you using?
  • Most of my work is done in Paint Tool Sai 2. Some times I paint in Clip Studio and I use Photoshop for resizing and adjustments.

    Traditional Work:

  • What Kind of equipment are you using for the pencil drawings?
  • For pencil drawings I mostly use brands that are available within the EU, such as Koh-I-Noor and Faber Castell, but I also inherited a lot of random pencils from family and friends. I especially enjoy multicolored pencils (magic pencil) to work with.

The paper that I use vary, the only thing I keep in mind is that the quality of the paper should be at least 100g/m2 (the typical office paper is 80 g/m2) for a nice and even spread of the pigments and allow for erasing. The most common size I draw on is A4.

For erasers I use Stabilo, Koh-I-Noor and similar brands. The eraser should be firm but soft, so it won’t smear the pigments and won’t damage the paper. I also use eraser pencils for dealing with very fine details.

I use Blending Paper Stumps in case I want to smear and blend certain areas in graphite drawings.

I prefer drawing with mechanical pencil and ballpoint pen when I can, and the brand I like the most is Dr Grip by Pilot. The most used mechanical pencil filling is 2B.

  • What kind of equipment are you using for the paintings?
  • You have to know that I’m mostly experimenting and relaxing with painting, and I don’t consider this to be a part of my professional work as of yet.

I have an unidentifiable palette someone left me that I’m trying to use up. I have no idea what brand this might have been, I filled up some of the empty slots with dried out water base Tempera paint.

I use Koh-I-Noor and Diamine ink to paint with.

I paint into various sketchbooks, lately the best I could find is by Paperblanks, which is most certainly not made for painting but this is what we have around. It is disturbingly hard to find quality (and pretty) sketchbooks in the area where I live.

The brushes I use are Donna Dewberry brand, they’re very high quality and extremely resilient.
